John Elliott Retires
Sunday, September 20, 2009
While the past year has seen a new direction for the band, September truly marked a changing of tides for the Peel Regional
Police Pipe Band with the resignation of long time member John Elliott. John has had a long and distinguished piping career that has spanned several decades and both sides of the Atlantic. Bagpipes and Pipe Bands have been a way of life for John since the age of 8. John has been a member of the PRPPB since its formation in 1992 and has served as both the Pipe Major and a valued member of the rank and file since that time.
He can lay claim to having performed with the likes of Sir Paul McCartney, John McDermott and an appearances on Hockey Night in Canada.
We thank John and his family (wife Lynn, sons Andrew and Stuart) for his many years of service and dedication to the Peel Regional Police Pipe Band and wish him continued success as he looks to the future. Best of luck John!
